The SEC statement said this schedule was not based on previous formats since it now includes 14 teams. The league will sit down this spring to discuss how to move forward with the new arrangement and scheduling.
“The SEC transition team and our athletic directors did a great job with significant logistical challenges in a short time frame in developing the 2012 football conference schedule,” SEC Commissioner Mike Slive said in a statement.
