Former Alabama running back Trent Richardson had surgery on his left knee today.
According to an Associated Press report, the Browns issued a statement that Richardson had what the team termed “routine arthroscopic” surgery by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla.
Andrews performed a similar procedure on Richardson on Feb. 3 to repair damaged meniscus cartilage. The Browns are hoping Richardson can return in time for the season opener Sept. 9.
