Trevor Releford‘s photo graced the marquee outside Madison Square Garden, and the Alabama guard put on the best show of the night inside the venerable building Friday night.
Releford poured in 25 points to lift the Crimson Tide to a 77-55 win over Villanova in the 2K Sports Classic championship game. The Tide point guard took most valuable player honors. Teammate Rodney Cooper added 17 points.
Levi Randolph sank a jumper with 17:11 to play, putting Alabama ahead 33-31, and the Crimson Tide never trailed again.
Alabama has opened the season with four straight wins and will face Charleston Southern at home Friday night at 7.
