Where the Tide stands in the NCAA statistical rankings

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — After shutting out Western Carolina 49-0 on Saturday, Alabama remained No. 1 nationally in scoring defense. For the second straight week, the Crimson Tide is tied with Notre Dame, which shut out Wake Forest 38-0.

Alabama is second to Florida State in total defense. The Tide is third in rushing defense, fourth in pass defense and seventh in pass efficiency defense.

Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron moved to third in passing efficiency. Georgia’s Aaron Murray is first.
