Tide in the NFL: Hightower helps Pats win, then heads to Tuscaloosa

Former Alabama linebacker Dont’a Hightower had four tackles and a sack Thursday night as the New England Patriots beat the New York Jets 49-19.

He brought down Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez for a 6-yard loss in the first quarter.

Defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick had a tackle for the Patriots. In Houston’s 34-31 win over Detroit, cornerback Kareem Jackson had two tackles and a pass defended. In Dallas’ 38-31 loss to Washington, safety Charlie Peprah had three tackles and a pass defended.

As for Hightower, he announced his postgame plans on Twitter, and it involves heading South to see his old team play:
