Greg McElroy won’t get to start Sunday. The New York Jets announced this morning Mark Sanchez will remain the team’s starting quarterback at Jacksonville.

McElroy, a former Alabama quarterback, replaced Sanchez in Sunday’s game against Arizona and led the Jets to a 7-6 win.

McElroy threw his first NFL touchdown pass. He completed 5 of 7 for 29 yards.

“When I looked at everything, what I came back to is what I mentioned before: Who gives us the best chance to win, particularly who gives us the best chance to win this week?” Ryan said this morning to reporters at a news conference. “And that’s Mark Sanchez.”
