Crimson Tide commitment Jonathan Cook intercepted a pass and returned it 57 yards in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic on Saturday in Montgomery.
Cook, a Spanish Fort High standout, made his play in the second quarter of Alabama’s 21-16 win over Mississippi. With Mississippi facing second-and-goal from the Alabama 2, Cook snatched a Parker Adamson pass in the end zone and ran it back to the Mississippi 43. It set up a field goal, giving Alabama a 6-0 lead.
Cook also broke up two passes and made a tackle for a 4-yard loss. Alabama commitment Darius Paige, a defensive tackle from Foley High, made one tackle and was credited with one quarterback hurry. Tide commitment ArDarius Stewart of Fultondale High returned two punts for a total of 5 yards and broke up a pass.
