COACH: Russ Huesman, fifth season at Chattanooga (31-24) and fifth overall (31-24)

OFFENSE: The offense is run by QB Jacob Huesman. He leads the Southern Conference in points responsible for with 16 passing touchdowns and nine rushing. He completed 68 percent of his passes. … Team’s rushing offense (223.3 ypg) ranks fourth in the Southern Conference, passing offense (1551.1 ypg) sixth, total offense (378.4 ypg) fourth and scoring offense (28.7 ppg) third. … Huesman averages 81.3 ypg rushing. RB Keon Williams averages 85.9 ypg and has scored nine TDs. … Five different receivers have caught at least 21 passes, led by TE Faysal Shafaat with 33 for 208 yards and six TDs.

DEFENSE: The defense has carried the Mocs. The rushing defense (170.6 ypg) ranks third in the SoCon, while the pass defense (148.6 ypg), total defense (319.3 ypg) and scoring defense (17.8 ppg) are first. First downs are not allowed much with 182 in 11 games for first in the conference. … LB West Dothard is the team’s leader in tackles with 81. … DL Davis Tull leads the team in sacks with nine of the 20 and leads the team in forced fumbles with four. … DB Dee Virgin is the top pass defender with two INTs and seven pass breakups.

SPECIAL TEAMS: P Nick Pollard averages 40.7 yards on 44 attempts with a long of 78 and 21 downed inside the 20 and six fair caught. … Pollard is also 5 of 9 on field goal with a long of 42. Three of the misses are beyond 40 yards. … The team averages 25.5 yards on kickoff returns and 9.2 yards on punt returns.

NOTABLE: The Mocs are a lower-division Football Championship Subdivision team. … They have won at least a share of the Southern Conference title with a 6-2 conference record. They won a school-record six straight games in the middle of the season, but snapped that streak last week with a loss to Samford, 17-14, in overtime. … There are seven Alabama natives on the Chattanooga roster: DL Toyvian Brand (Greensboro), DB Sema’je Kendal (Huntsville) and OL Brandon Morgan (Hoover), DL Taylor Reynolds (McCalla), WR Alphonso Stewart (Robertsdale), OL Hunter Townson (Ider) ad DB Lucas Webb (Northport).
