Each week during the 2012 season, we will have a poll on The Daily Bama Blog’s main page asking you who you think was the most valuable player of that Saturday’s game. We’ll check it Thursday around lunch and publish the player you select here:
Game 13: Alabama 32, Georgia 28
MVP: Running back Eddie Lacy rushed for 181 yards on 20 carries and a pair of touchdowns in the SEC Championship Game victory. He compiled the third highest rushing total in title game history, trailing only LSU’s Justin Vincent (201 in 2003) and Tennessee’s Gerald Riggs (182 in 2004).
Poll results: 1, Lacy, 76 percent; 2, Amari Cooper, 9 percent; 3, T.J. Yeldon, 6 percent.
Game 12: Alabama 49, Auburn 0
MVP: Quarterback AJ McCarron completed 15 of 21 passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns, which ties a career high.
Poll results: 1, McCarron, 41 percent; 2, Amari Cooper, 29 percent; 3, Eddie Lacy, 21 percent.
Game 11: Alabama 49, Western Carolina 0
MVP: Running back Eddie Lacy rushed for 99 yards on 10 carries — just missing 100. He scored three touchdowns as well.
Poll results: 1, Lacy, 55 percent; 2, AJ McCarron, 16 percent; 3, Blake Sims, 10 percent.
Game 10: Texas A&M 29, Alabama 24
MVP: Wide receiver Amari Cooper. Caught six passes for 136 yards and a touchdown on a 54-yard reception.
Poll results: 1, Cooper, 30 percent; 2, Eddie Lacy, 25 percent; 3, C.J. Mosley, 15 percent.
Game 9: Alabama 21, LSU 17
MVP: Quarterback AJ McCarron. Completed 14 of 27 passes for 165 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the final minute. Increased his streak of passes without an interception to 289.
Poll results: 1, McCarron, 43 percent; 2, T.J. Yeldon, 39 percent; 3, Kevin Norwood, 11 percent.
Game 8: Alabama 38, Mississippi State 7
MVP: Quarterback AJ McCarron. Completed 16 of 23 passes for 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Increased his streak of passes without an interception to 262.
Poll results: 1, McCarron, 53 percent; 2, Robert Lester, 14 percent; 3, T.J. Yeldon, 13 percent.
Game 7: Alabama 44, Tennessee 13
MVP: Wide receiver Amari Cooper. Caught seven passes for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Also made a saving tackle on a kick return.
Poll results: 1, Cooper, 54 percent; 2, AJ McCarron, 40 percent; 3, T.J. Yeldon, 2 percent.
Game 6: Alabama 42, Missouri 10
MVP: Running back Eddie Lacy. Rushed for a career-high 177 yards on 18 carries and scored three touchdowns. His scoring runs covered 73, 1 and 3 yards.
Poll results: 1, Lacy, 63 percent; 2, C.J. Mosley, 11 percent; 2, AJ McCarron, 11 percent.
Game 5: Alabama 33, Ole Miss 14
MVP: Wide receiver Amari Cooper. The freshman caught eight passes for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns. One came on a 16-yard pass and another on a 12-yarder.
Poll results: 1, Cooper, 68 percent; 2, Christion Jones, 9 percent; 3, Dee Milliner, 8 percent.
Game 4: Alabama 40, Fla. Atlantic 7
MVP: Quarterback AJ McCarron. The junior wins the honor for the third straight week. He completed 15 of 25 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns. Is fourth in the NCAA passer rankings with 10 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Poll results: 1, McCarron, 32 percent; 2, Eddie Lacy, 30 percent; 3, Cade Foster, 16 percent.
Game 3: Alabama 52, Arkansas 0
MVP: Quarterback AJ McCarron. Completed 11 of 16 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. Remained third in the NCAA passer rankings with seven touchdowns and no interceptions.
Poll results: 1, McCarron, 36 percent; 2, Eddie Lacy, 34 percent; 3, Jesse Williams, 7 percent.
Game 2: Alabama 35, W. Kentucky 0
MVP: Quarterback AJ McCarron. Completed 14 of 19 passes for 219 yards. Tied a career high with four touchdown passes. Moved to third in the NCAA passer rankings.
Poll results: 1, McCarron, 65 percent; 2, C.J. Mosley, 9 percent; 2, Kevin Norwood, 9 percent.
Game 1: Alabama 41, Michigan 14
MVP: Running back T.J. Yeldon. Rushed for 111 yards on 11 carries. Caught one pass for 26 yards. First Tide true freshman to rush for more than 100 yards in his debut.
