After injuring his hamstring last week, Alabama RB Eddie Lacy now hopes to perform all drills at Alabama’s Pro Day on March 13. No combine.

This is a particularly rough break for Lacy, the redshirt junior who left a year of eligibility on the field to go to the NFL, as his injury saga continues. Lacy’s laundry list of injuries as a member of the Crimson Tide includes turf toe plus ankle and knee soreness.
Lacy said after his declaration for the NFL Draft that he was 100% healthy only once in the 2012 national championship season, when the Tide won it all against Notre Dame in Miami. Against the Irish, he tied his season-high with 20 carries, gaining 140 yards and scoring a touchdown. Lacy rushed for 1,322 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2012 to make for a career total of 2,375 yards and 30 touchdowns.
#Alabama is hiring Mario Cristobal as O-line coach, per source. He’s in Tuscaloosa today to finalize deal.

Jeremy Fowler of CBSsports.com has reported the former Florida International head coach Mario Cristobal will be named the new offensive line coach for the Crimson Tide. Cristobal was fired as the head coach at FIU after going 27-47 as the head coach. FIU went 0-12 in 2006, the year before Cristobal’s arrival, and in 2010 was led to a 7-6 season and the school’s first ever bowl victory.
Cristobal was hired by Al Golden at Miami after his firing at FIU as the tight ends coach. Previously, Cristobal was part of Greg Schiano’s staff at Rutgers.
But 4th quarter starts tomorrow!!!!!
Head coach Nick Saban and strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran started their fear-striking 4th Quarter Program on Monday, working on the team’s conditioning before spring practice.
Alabama will open spring practice on March 21, after its Pro Day on March 13, and will conclude with the A-Day Game on April 20.
Off-The-Field Notes
Lacy is one of four players in the nation in the running to be on the cover of the NCAA Football 14 video game when it is released this summer. The other three candidates are Michigan’s Denard Robinson, Texas A&M’s Ryan Swope and Oregon’s Kenjon Barner. Georgia’s Jarvis Jones and Notre Dame’s Tyler Eifert were two of the four athletes eliminated in the last round.
If Lacy is voted to be on the cover (you can vote on the event’s Facebook page), he will be the third Alabama running back featured on the cover. Shaun Alexander was on the cover once (he was also on the Madden cover) and Mark Ingram followed suit by winning the same contest Lacy is currently in back in 2011.
In other news, the Harlem Shake has made its way from the UA community into the football team. IMG Academy, the NFL Draft training compound for former Alabama offensive lineman Barrett Jones and safety Robert lester, made their own attempt at the video.
Before the dancing, Jones can be seen in the bottom-right corner of the screen holding a weight above his head with his right arm (I haven’t found Lester yet. When the dancing starts, Jones can be seen in the front wearing a Santa Claus suit and Lester said via Twitter in the back on top of a weight rack wearing a hat.
